December 16, 2012(Finally)
The Survivor Philippines winner was announced Sunday night following a bitter jury interrogation. It was all down to Lisa, Denise, Malcolm and Skupin. So who won? Let’s do this chronologically.
After multiple delays and hefty flashback on the season, the first part of the Survivor 2012 Philippines season finale took off. We first pick up right after last week’s elimination of Abi-Maria and the final four are not sad that she’s gone.
They head off to the challenge where they find out the reward means the winner wins a secret advantage in final immunity challenge. Jeff calls it the biggest reward of the season. The challenge is an obstacle course/knots/puzzle game. It’s a close call between Malcolm and Denise but in the end, Malcolm wins the reward. We will find out what he won just before the immunity challenge.
Back at camp, Denise and Lisa talk about ditching Malcolm. And Skupin is on board, so it’s three against one. And this isn’t just Denise turning on her number-one ally. It’s Malcolm’s own fault because he was being wishy-washy with Denise when she asked him if they were cool.
Lisa had an interesting take on why he should be the next to go. “Malcolm’s the kind of guy who’ll put his arm around you, stab you, then visit you at the hospital the next
day,” Lisa said. Up next we get the traditional Survivor bathroom break, I mean the fallen comrades walk. So the final four look back on all those from the season who are no longer with them.
And now it’s time to find out the first of the final three with the last immunity challenge. This week it’s simply a game of balance. And when I say simple, I mean simple. All
you have to do is balance a ball on some blocks of wood. I know, it’s not easy, but it’s just not an intense and exciting one. And what was Malcolm’s advantage?
He gets a second chance if he drops his ball.
Malcolm is out first. Then he gets his second shot and is still out first. Denise follows shortly after. Lisa is out next, giving immunity to . Skupin. He’s the first officially in the final three.
Malcolm is worried, as he should be. Denise and the other two are talking and they’re still solid on Malcolm. But Skupin says he’s still considering keeping Malcolm, which is the producers just trying to confuse us because it’s so obvious that it will be Malcolm.
Time for Tribal. Most of the discussion was all about Malcolm or Denise, which left us with virtually no suspense. So there was no surprise when Malcolm was cut and became the final member of the jury.
The Questioning Highlights:
Artis: Bitter, party of one. “Karma is a bitch,” he says. OK. He never said anything worth noting. He just spouted bitter stuff.
Carter: He gave a “good job” to Lisa. He asks Skupin about how he felt when he was sent home.
Pete: Zzzzzz
RC: She was very nice to Lisa. And cordial overall, kind of unlike her time on the show.
Malcolm: He really went after Denise. He called her an “appeaser” and brought up her job as a therapist.
Jeff Kent: Bitter and arrogant. And his mustache is creepy.
Abi: Of course it was all about her.
Penner: He finally outed Lisa as a star of Facts of Life.
It’s time for the jury vote. And then we head off to the live reunion for the results.
Before getting to the votes, Jeff calls for a moment of silence to remember the victims of the recent shooting in Connecticut.
And by a vote of five to one to one, Denise is crowned the winner of Survivor 2012.
During the live reunion show, Lisa won the fan favorite award worth $100,000.

December 12, 2012(week #13)
The Survivor Philippines castaways finally did what they should have done weeks ago and sent Abi-Maria off to the jury where she will be forced to vote
for one of them.
That means your Survivor 2012 final four are Malcolm, Lisa, Skupin and Denise.
The episode opens on Abi thanking the others for keeping her, as if they did her a favor. That’s not exactly why they did it, but OK, Abi. She says she plans to play her fake idol again at next tribal, but she might not need it if people decide that she is the person to sit next to in the finale because she’s easy to beat.
Reward challenge.
It’s the typical obstacle course/ring toss game. The winner gets a helicopter ride to board a boat for a pizza party and some whale watching. The winner gets to pick two people to join them, meaning two unlucky players will be left behind.
Skupin wins the challenge and he chooses Malcolm and Lisa to go along with him. Denise and Abi have to go back to camp empty-handed. Abi was crushed for some reason. Can someone tell me why she’s surprised she didn’t get picked? I thought she learned no one liked her two episodes ago.
On the pizza boat, the three of them are enjoying pizza, soda and cookies. Skupin gets a sugar high and the next thing you know Blair is eating a cookie off a flipper. Yikes. And then a final three deal is struck. Will it be Lisa, Malcolm and Skupin all the way to the end? We’ll know soon.
Denise wakes up feeling awful with some sort of neck issues, possibly a bite of some sort. She tries to shake it off, but she’s in a lot of pain. Lisa and Skupin are praying away the pain and Abi is grinning and hoping Denise is taken off in a medical helicopter. What a loving soul she is.
Immunity challenge. It’s a maze/puzzle/skill mashup. Denise gets a strong lead, but Malcolm comes from behind and wins the challenge and a spot in the final four.
And now it’s time to talk about who should stay and who should go. Abi starts working Skupin. She’s pitching a final three, telling him that no one will vote for her in the finals and that he needs to ditch Denise and Malcolm. She has a point, but who wants to keep that heartless crazy person around any longer?
Lisa starts working in her idea to get rid of Denise while Denise is hinting at Malcolm to give her his hidden idol since he won’t need it. Then Lisa decides that maybe Denise needs to stay because the more people left to get rid of Malcolm next week, the better. So what will happen at Tribal …
Let’s find out. Abi is trying her hardest to throw Denise under the bus at Tribal. She even says that Lisa and Skupin can’t win the game and even calls Skupin an idiot and a moron. What is she doing? Why doesn’t she just go and sit in the jury seats now?
Let’s just get to the votes. This should be very obvious.
Denise: 1
Abi: 4
Points:
3 points to Skupin for winning individual reward challenge
3 points to Malcolm for winning immunity challenge
All but Abi get 1 point for surviving.
Looks like this is turning out to be a race for 2nd and 3rd only, Pat seems to have 1st place all sealed up with still 3 of his players remaining.

December 5, 2012(week #12)
The episode opens on last week’s Tribal Council aftermath. Abi continues to pretend she has a hidden immunity idol. And everyone is tense and eyeballing each other, trying to figure out who they can and should trust.
And then we jump right into the reward challenge but that’s because they’re being paired up with their loved ones. Skupin’s son comes out first. Then it’s Carter’s mom. Denise’s “man” pops up next, followed by Lisa’s brother. Out next comes Abi-Maria’s mom.
And then we get Malcolm’s brother Miles. I was expecting him to go on some sort of racist, homophobic anti-Survivor rant from the previews we saw, but it turns out he’s just kind of crazy.
The reward challenge starts and the castaways are paired up with their loved ones. The winner of the challenge gets to spend the night at camp with their loved one. That’s cool and all, but what about dinner and a bath? Come on, Survivor!
Malcom and Miles win.
He gets to pick one other Survivor to spend the night with their loved one. He goes with Lisa. Jeff surprises them with one more pick. Malcolm pucks Skupin and totally shuts out Denise. What a shocker. I mean, hasn’t she been his main ally this whole time? What a douche move.
The castaways then get to spend some time filling their loved ones in on what has been going on and they get to recharge their emotions and strategy and they’ve got a new set of ears to bounce ideas off.
Skupin, Lisa and their loved ones start hatching a plan to oust Malcolm and work to get Carter in for a three-persona alliance. But Lisa is still stuck on holding on to her word with Malcolm. She continues to play with too much integrity, but her brother is trying to get in her head that this is a game and that she needs to play it for what it is.
And he gets through to her. So the plan at that moment is to blindside Malcolm. The loved ones head out and this week’s immunity challenge gets under way. It’s your typical Survivor obstacle course/relay/skill game.
Malcolm wins immunity so there goes the big blindside idea.
Let the scrambling begin. So it’s either going to be Carter or Abi. Denis seems to not be an option. So it’s either peace on the island (ditching Abi) or strategy (ditching Carter). And Abi continues to threaten to use her imaginary immunity idol, but I’m not sure if anyone is buying it.
Let’s just head off to Tribal Council and find out what happens. Well basically, Jeff tells the Survivors they’d be crazy to not vote out Carter. Way to be impartial, Jeff. So there’s going to be no surprises here tonight.
Here’s how the votes played out:
Carter: 5
Abi: 1
So Carter is out and Abi lives to see yet another week.
Points:
Malcom gets 3 points for winning challenge (individual challenge)
Malcom gets 3 points for winning immunity
All but carter get 1 point for surviving

November 28, 2012(week #11)
This week on The Abi-Maria Show, I mean Survivor Philippines, we pick right up after that intense Tribal Council last week that left Abi in the know that everyone hates her. Abi is sulking (and rightly so), and everyone else is already planning to vote her out the first chance they get since she spent her hidden immunity idol. And she’s quite aware that she is at the top of everyone’s hit list.
But everyone is quickly sidetracked when they realize that the Survivor Auction is coming up as their award challenge. That means each of the castaways get $500 to spend on the items that Jeff offers them. And it works just like a real auction with bidding. You know what an auction is.
The first item up for bids is pancakes, bacon, orange juice. Denise blows her whole load on it. $500 pancakes!? OK. Skupin shouts out $500 for the next item before he even knows what it is. It’s cheese and wine. And he doesn’t even drink alcohol. What a fool.
Donuts and iced coffee go to Malcolm for $200. The next is a secret item. Penner bids $100 and wins the bid. It turns out to be fried chicken and french fries. Best deal.
The next item is a secret item as well. Carter wins the bid for $200 and he gets a loaded baked potato. But Jeff offers him a choice. He can take the potato or trade it for rice and beans for the tribe. Carter does what he should do and gives up the potato for the tribe.
The next secret item goes to Lisa for $320. And it’s a giant sandwich and a soda. It actually looked quite delicious. The next item goes to Abi for $500. It’s a secret advantage… Carter takes the next item for $200. It turns out to be veal shanks for the entire tribe. That’s two things Carter scored for the tribe. But they only have 60 seconds to devour it. Without utensils. Nasty. At least everyone got a little something out of the auction.
Everyone is feeling good now and floating on their full bellies and Penner decides to evoke a conversation with Abi. Waaan waaaaan waaaaaaan. Way to go, Penner. So the floodgates are opened and Abi goes on and on about how she feels and how everyone has made her feel. It basically gets no where. I think Lisa may have called Abi a pig, thought. Even though she said she didn’t. Hilarious. Abi finally goes off to find out what the advantage is that she won in the auction and it’s a pass to the final round in the immunity challenge. That means she has a one in three shot at winning immunity. She decides to use the power for evil, of course, by tricking the others into believing it means something else. So she plants the seed to Malcolm that she has another immunity idol. Does he buy it?
And then it’s time for this week’s Immunity Challenge. It’s the whole attached to a rope obstacle course. Jeff asks Abi to read the message he received about her advantage. She pretends like it says more than it does to continue her charade. She tells them about the skipping to round three thing and then tears it up so no one will see the second part of the message that doesn’t really exist. Smart move. That’s decent gameplay.
After the first round of the contest, Lisa is cut. After round two, Denise and Skupin are out. That means it’s Penner, Carter and Abi in the final round. Abi wins immunity and
won’t be eliminated this week. Looks like Penner’s time is finally up and will be going out tonight since Abi is no longer a choice.
Lisa decides the game is bigger than her and that she’s not good at the game, so she tells Penner that he is the plan and that she’s been told to write his name down at
Tribal Council. Carter, Abi and Penner are going for Denise, so Penner goes to Skupin as a swing vote. Even though, he’s not really a swing vote. Another crazy
Tribal Council is in store!
And here’s how the votes played out:
•Denise ended up with 3 votes.
•Penner ended up with 4 votes.
Penner it is. His torch is snuffed and he heads out in a bitter fashion.
Points:
Abi get 3 for winning immunity
No points for Survivor Auction
All but Jon get 1 point for surviving.

November 21th, 2012 (Week #10)
This week’s episode opens on Abi and Pete trying to force themselves into feeling bad about Artis leaving. Everyone else is scrambling to figure out their
next move. A lot of stuff is up in the air with the tribe now.
Lisa and Abi talking about what happened at tribal. Lisa is trying to prove her loyalty. And, me and everyone else who watches Survivor, is trying to figure out what Lisa cares and why she hasn’t ditched Abi and Pete. Enough is enough, Blair!
The award challenge this week gives the winning team a “thing of beauty.” They will win a spa day — baths, massages, manicures and a delicious feast.
The Red Team was Abi, Carter, Malcolm and Pete. The Yellow Team was Penner, Denise, Lisa and Skupin.
he Red Team wins. With no help from Abi, who helped the Yellow Team score by mistake.
The winning team heads off to their spa day and everyone watching is hoping someone throws Abi overboard. But unfortunately that doesn’t happen. The four of them
relax and enjoy the baths, massages and the food. They realize that they’re all the young players and all the oldsters are back at camp not enjoying a spa day.
But that’s not to say the older players were not relaxing. Oh, they were. They were enjoying time away from Abi. And that was short-lived. When the younger players returned, Abi spent the rest of the evening rubbing it in, not letting anyone else speak, and just being “the most annoying Survivor castaway ever,” as Survivor itself called her in this week’s promo commercial.
“Abi has all the social grace of a Mac truck,” Malcolm said. He hit the nail on the head.
In between all the Abi hate, Malcolm and Skupin have a talk and decide to pitch a final four deal with the two of them, Denise and Lisa. Skupin check in with Lisa and lays the offer on the table. She seems very intrigued. As does Skupin. Lisa and Skupin talk it out and start weighing their options. They decide the trust Penner over Malcolm. So, scratch that plan.
But Penner isn’t ready to make final four deals right now. He does’ t want to make any commitments. He says it’s too early for him to say.
So will Lisa and Skupin go back to Malcolm. Yes. Lisa, Malcolm, Denise and Skupin meet and shape on the final four deal. For now.
It’s time for the immunity challenge. It’s another knot/relay/obstacle challenge. It’s pretty convoluted but has no strength or skill, so it’s an even playing field and anyone’s game. The first five to make it through the first round move on. The three who don’t make it to the next round were Pete, Abi and Lisa.
The three who make it thorough the next round first move on to the final round. The three moving on are Skupin, Carter and Denise. Malcolm is out.
Carter wins immunity and a guaranteed spot in the final 7.
Malcolm feels like he’s in danger. Abi is smiling at the jury (getting called out by Jeff Probst) and Skupin talks about voting for people with the idol. Pete talks about his
alliance’s fall from grace. And then it’s back to Abi. She tries to make nice from last week’s and then blames some of her attitude on culture and her language barrier.
Denise, the therapist, calls B.S. and I love it. Abi says she’s surprised that no one on the show likes her because her real life is nothing like this. So is it a matter of being misunderstood or what we’re all thinking? Who knows.
Let’s get to the results. This is going no where. Abi decides to play her her immunity idol. Malcolm does not. So who to the votes play out?
Abi – 3 votes
Malcolm – 2 votes
Pete – 3 votes
Since Abi played her idol, Pete is voted out and becomes the fourth member of the jury.
Points
Abi, Carter, Malcolm and Pete get 1 point each for winning reward
Carter get 3 points for winning immunity
everyone but pete gets 1 point for surviving week #10
It starting to get interesting as only 10 point seperates 1st thru 5th
next move. A lot of stuff is up in the air with the tribe now.

relax and enjoy the baths, massages and the food.

November 14th, 2012 (Week #9)
After last week’s crazy Survivor Philippines Tribal Council that Jeff Probst called one of the craziest he’s experienced, nothing could happen this week to rival it. But the show resulted in a blindside that did come close. So that’s two great weeks and two great episodes. This season is far, far superior to last season.
At the start of the episode, the players are still reeling from Jeff’s elimination and the crazy tribal council. Abi asks who the one person was who voted for her. Penner says it was him. Penner then realizes his one vote could have changed the outcome of Jeff’s elimination to Pete’s elimination. Malcom and Lisa are talking through the fact that they threw each other under the bus. They make nice.
Everything seems to be getting back to normal. Well, except for Abi. She’s not ready to understand what Lisa was doing last week was good gameplay. Lisa is kind of over the game at this point, too. She doesn’t like the lying and the backstabbing. She’s trying to play an honest game but she’s learning that isn’t how the game of Survivor usually works.
At the reward challenge, Jeff tells the group they’ll be playing for the chance to serve as ambassadors for a native village. They will be delivering supplies to the village and then stick around for a meal prepared by the natives.
In schoolyard fashion, they split into teams of two and no one wants to be on a team with Abi, so she sits out the challenge. The yellow team is Skupin, Artis, Lisa and Pete. The red team is Penner, Carter, Denise and Malcom.
The red team easily wins the challenge, so they head off for their reward.
After delivering the items and enjoying their meal, the four of them discuss the game and plan their next move. Their goal is to get Skupin and Lisa to join their side and start targeting Artis, Abi and Pete. Penner, of course, is ready to make this happen since he is and has been the biggest target in the game (despite making it week after week).
Meanwhile, the yellow team is back at camp scraping up coconut shavings to eat and Abi is letting Lisa have it. She’s calling her gullible and naive and bashing her for sharing their alliance’s information with the other team. Abi is really pushing Lisa away and Lisa starts contemplating switching alliances, which could play right into the other side’s idea. Way to go, Abi.
The immunity challenge is next and it’s a game of balance, patience and luck, so it’s really anyone’s game. Throughout the whole challenge, Skupin and Pete are the only two actually playing successfully. At one point they’re neck and neck, but Pete messes up and Skupin takes the win and the immunity.
Penner starts scrambling because he thinks he’s doomed. Abi is sizing everyone up and she’s got her eyes on Penner. But Denise, Malcom and Carter decide to target Artis and go to Skupin to bring him on board. Meanwhile, Penner and Lisa are chatting and he’s doing everything he can to get her away from her poisonous alliance and she’s starting to budge, but she’s still worried about how she’d look to people by not staying loyal. Hey Blair, I don’t think any of us would mind if you turned your back on that horrible alliance led by Abi. Really, it will be OK. Just switch teams. I give you permission.
So they head off to Tribal Council and Jeff focuses on Lisa and Abi. Lisa, in a very nice way, says her alliance sucks and that they did not appreciate what she has been doing for them. She basically says the other side respects her gameplay and her own alliance doesn’t. Abi just huffs and rolls her eyes.
That side is convinced that Penner is going out, so Abi ignores her hidden immunity idle after Jeff returns with the voting results.
In the end, Penner gets four votes and Artis ends up with five. Abi is shocked. The jury of RC and Jeff are shocked. Everyone is shocked. It turns out that Lisa remained loyal to her alliance but Skupin decided to join the others and helped send Artis packing in a complete blindside.

October 31, 2012 (Week #7)
It was merge night on Survivor Philippines, which means that the original Tandang Tribe finally had to go to Tribal Council and Denise had to go to the seventh one in a row.
At the start of the episode, the Tandang Tribe spies a boat and once it approaches shore, they’re given the message that the tribes are merging and they have 10 minutes to get their stuff, board the boat and head to their new home. Kalabaw gets the same deal and everyone is on their way to their new home as the Dangrayne Tribe.
Malcom quickly realizes that she may be onto him, so he pulls her aside to discuss it. Lisa promises she was not looking for anything, but was just trying to be helpful. He believes her and lets her know that only the two of them and Denise know about the idol. They strike up a little deal and Lisa agrees to keep his secret.
A little later, Lisa and Penner talk about Lisa’s little secret. He asks if anyone knows about her past as a child actress and she assures him no one does. Of course Penner has been an actor, too, so I’m not sure why it would matter that Lisa was an actor but not Penner? Weird.
Penner then has a talk with Skupin about how they can survive the game as returning players since they’ve had targets on their backs since day one. It appears that they plan to work together to keep each other in the game…
At the immunity challenge, it’s the first time players will be getting individual immunity. The last man and last woman standing in the endurance challenge wins the immunity.
Here’s how the challenge played out (in order of elimination):
•Skupin
•Pete
•Penner
•Lisa
•Malcom
•RC
•Abi
•Denise wins immunity as the last woman standing
•Artis
•Jeff
•Carter wins immunity as the last man standing
The talk about who is in danger this week is kind of all over the place as no one real knows what’s going on. Even at tribal council no one seems to really know what to expect. Jeff sends them off to vote and once that’s done, he asks if anyone has an immunity idol they’d like to play. Penner knows the target is on his back, so he pulls out his hidden immunity idol. Any votes for him will not count. And that’s a good thing because he ended up getting five votes, including one from Skupin.
Pete
gets two votes and R.C. ends up with four. She becomes the seventh person voted out and the eight person to leave the game.
Points
Denise gets 3 points for winning idol
Carter gets 3 points for winning idol
Everyone but RC get 1 point for surviving the week

October 24, 2012 (Week #6)
Things are getting weird on Survivor Philippines. People are making weird deals, Blair from The Facts of Life is mud-wrestling and for some reason rice is greater than sandwiches and potato chips.
Ahead of any weirdness, however, we learn that both tribes are ready to ditch the returning players. Skupin is eating all his tribe’s rice and Penner is just feeling like
too much of a threat to the Tandang Tribe.
And then Penner and Skupin strike up the deal that will shape the rest of the episode. During the reward challenge, the players have to play soccer with a giant wicker ball in a field of mud. It’s basically just one big weird mud-wrestling porn though. We get Skupin sitting on Penner. Pete and Carter rubbing mud all over each other. Blair is being pulled around in the mud by Denise.
So that competition is going no where. No one is scoring because the ball isn’t going. They’re basically just holding each other back. After an hour-long test of endurance instead of a simple little soccer game, they strike up a deal. Skupin and Penner decide that if Kalabaw gives Tandang all of their rice, they can have the win. Oh, I almost forgot! The prize is a picnic of sandwiches, potato chips, brownies, soda and things of that nature in a dry hut.
So the tribes agree on that really stupid deal and the only person with half a brain to fuss about it is Arlis. He should win player of the week for not being OK with this deal alone.
Kalabaw heads off to their picnic and Penner promises them they will be able to catch fish the next day when they realize they have zero food left. But at least they’ll get their stomachs full for the day. Oh, and they also get surprise letters from home. So the deal was probably worth it to them in the end. But the real short-end of the stick went to Tandang. Especially when it’s realized that even with Kalabaw’s rice, they only have enough food for a couple of days. Doh!
The next day, however, Tandang is filled up on rice and ready for the immunity challenge, while the Kalabaw members are starving and whining. The sandwiches from the day before didn’t go as far as they’d hoped.
At the immunity challenge, the teams have to launch balls at each others and the first team to catch five wins. Simple. Jeff leads the Kalabaw to four catches and Malcom basically catches all the rest, giving Tandang another win. So Kalabaw will head off to Tribal Council again. I’m starting to think maybe Denise is the kiss of death. She has been to tribal every single week since the show started.
So before the head off to Tribal, Carter and Jeff are deciding what to do. They’re tossing around Penner and Katie’s name. They realize Katie is the weakest player, but this could be the chance to get Penner out with a blindside. It sounds like they might be ready to get Penner out, but then they head to Tribal Council and that’s not what happens at all.
By a vote of four to one, Katie is kicked off Survivor Philippines.
It would’ve been the perfect chance to blindside Penner. He wasn’t even going to use his hidden immunity idol. For some reason they decided Katie was the better choice.

Ocotober 17, 2012 (Week#5)
At the start of the episode, Denise and Malcom are left wondering what’s going to happen to them since Russell’s exit last week means that Matsing is down to only two members. They’re pretty sure they’re going to get tossed into the other tribes, so they do everything they can to find the immunity idol while they still can. Malcom finally finds the idol in the rice container.
At the reward challenge (finally!), Jeff confirms what Denise and Malcom figured. Matsing is over and they’re asked to draw new buffs. Malcom draws a Tandang buff and Denise draws a Kalabaw buff. They went from alliance members to opposing tribes. So far, Survivor 2012 has been the Matsing show. Maybe now I can finally learn who all of these other players are! On to the challenge. Malcom becomes an instant hero for his new tribe as he wins them coffee, muffins and cookies.
Malcom is on cloud nine as he went from a team that has lost everything week after week to the winning team.
Meanwhile, the Kalabaw Tribe is about to get hit with another loss. Dana is suddenly ill and it looks like things are pretty bad. The medical team comes in to treat her and give their prognosis. They clear Dana to continue in the competition, but Jeff leaves it up to her whether or not she thinks she can compete. She decides to bow out. So Kalabaw gains Denise and loses Dana.
At the immunity challenge, there’s only one idol this week, of course so for the first time this season, a new tribe will be going to council. The obstacle/puzzle challenge isn’t without its drama. Malcom and Denise are really pulling their weight as the new tribe members and in the end, it’s Katie that basically leads the Kalabaw Tribe to the loss. Malcom and the Tandang win the immunity idol. So once again Denise will head to Tribal along with the rest of her new tribe.
Denise’s strong showing in the challenge keeps the radar off her back, so she quickly aligns with Jeff, Jonathan and Carter. Talk then turns to Katie messing up the game. So it’s looking like Katie might be leaving the game. But then Dawson starts messing with Jeff, throwing out baseball and pro-sports talk just to make him squirm. And that wasn’t a smart decision because then Jeff decides maybe Dawson should go home since she knows his secret.
At Tribal Council there’s not a lot of drama. Dawson defends her worthiness and Katie apologies for sucking. In the end, Denise gets one vote from Dawson and all the other votes are for Dawson. She’s voted out. She’s stunned.

With the small, but solid, alliance of four, the Matsing Tribe heads into tonight’s challenges with at least the most trust in each other?
Maybe?
Speaking of Tribes that aren’t too tight, Jeff is ready to send Jonathan out of the Kalabaw Tribe but they’ve figured out he has the hidden
immunity idol. So the word blindside is being tossed around. Meanwhile, the Tandang Tribe is talking about their own blindsides. Lisa and Pete are dating on who they want to send out. Lisa is ready for RC to go but Pete has someone else in mind.
At the Reward/Immunity challenge, the losing tribe of course goes to Tribal Council, and the tribe to finish first wins a huge fishing kit. Second place wins a less cool fishing kit.
The challenge results:
•1st place — Kalabaw
•2nd place — Tandang
•3rd place — Matising
So Matsing will head to Tribal Council. For the third week in a row. Who will be the third person voted of Survivor Philippines?
It was looking like Russell was going to be the one to go because Malcom wasn’t ready to let Angie go even though Denise was. Then Angie opened her mouth and got Russell going and that helped him? I’m not sure how but it did.
By a vote of 3-1, Angie Layton is the third person voted off Survivor Philippines.

At Matsing, inevitably the best-looking guy and girl, Malcolm and Angie, decide to cuddle up at night to "stay warm." Roxy notices their canoodling right away and wants to split them up as soon as possible before anything of an alliance
develops between them. She talks Russell into agreeing with her but Denise is less concerned.
Roxy is also letting the weather get to her. She feels alone and isolated from her friends and family, and despite her experience as a seminary student, she is feeling abandoned by God. Everyone else notices her lack of work around camp and her lack of spirit. She also speaks in tongues, which is weird and creeps everybody out.
At Tandang everyone is complaining about how cold and wet they are. R.C. happens upon a clue for the hidden immunity idol while scooping rice and plays it cool until Lisa walks away. Then she shares the idol clue with Abi, who she is already saying is her "number two" to take to the end.
Then things get weird with Abi. After R.C. just displayed her trust by sharing the clue with her, Abi gets crazy paranoid. She sees R.C. and Michael talking on the beach and she storms over accusing R.C. of plotting and whispering with him. R.C. assures Abi that it was just harmless conversation, but Abi doesn't believe her and tells her if R.C. ever messes with her, she's "dead." Okaaay Abi, looks like you're due back in your padded room any moment.
Meanwhile, Lisa is struggling with the social aspect of the game. She removes herself from camp situations because she
feels like she is on the outs. R.C. plants it in her tribe-mates' heads that she's out looking for an idol, and that as soon as they have to go to tribal council they have to vote her out. She may be feeling insecure about her spot in the game, but can we all just take a minute to appreciate how good she looks?
At Kalabaw, Jeff says that all of his experience playing Major League Baseball couldn't prepare him for all the rain. His knee is also bothering him, but he decides he
needs to push through it. Jonathan is frustrated because he wants to look for the hidden immunity idol at camp but he can't because his whole tribe has confined themselves to their shelter because of the rain. His tribe finally decides to try to stay dry in a nearby cave which gives him his chance. He realizes that the bull figure on the top of their rice container is the idol, and he's right. He pries it off and is gleeful, considering he's never had an idol or even individual immunity before in the game.
Challenge
The challenge requires three pairs from each tribe to retrieve three different sets of heavy puzzle pieces by dragging them on a sleigh contraption and then putting three different puzzles together on large tables. Another tribe member who can see the puzzles from above calls out directions to help the other tribe members put the puzzle
together. The first two teams to finish win immunity. The first tribe to finish also wins blankets, pillows and a tarp and second place will get a tarp.
Right off the bat, Russell and Angie fall behind for Matsing because Russell doesn't know how to stack his puzzle pieces on his sled like a normal thinking person. Roxie and Malcolm make up a lot of time for Matsing but then Russell and Angie lose ground for them again in their second time out.
Kalabaw and Tandang are dead even when they start putting their puzzle together. Eventually Russell and Malcolm make up some ground by being quick to finish their first puzzle. Tandang pulls out in front and ends up finishing first. Matsing and Kabalaw are neck and neck until the last second when Kabalaw gets the last piece in just before Matsing. This means another trip to tribal council for Matsing.
Before going back to camp though, Russell finds time to throw a little hissy fit. He accuses his tribe members of giving up and goes off to Jeff about how if they don't want to be there they should go home. That's real rich, considering Russell was the one dragging them down for the most of the challenge and even blew it in the end by getting all panicky. But as usual, Russell doesn't take responsibility for his own actions, but blames those around him.
Loser Camp
For the second week in a row we have a Matsing Loser Camp. Russell is convinced that Roxy is the weakest player on their tribe but he doesn't want to get rid of her
because he thinks he'll be the next to go after her. And Roxy will not let up about the Angie/Malcolm Cuddle-gate. As far as she's concerned, someone coupling up is literally the worst possible thing that could happen in the history of Survivor. Never mind the fact that there is still a hidden immunity idol somewhere around her camp that she could be trying to find. Denise feels like she's put in the middle. She's wary of the Angie/Malcolm coupling, but she also feels like she has a strong connection with Malcolm and wouldn't want to alienate herself from that alliance.
Tribal Council
The first thing Jeff Probst points out sitting down at tribal is something that they barely discussed when they got back to camp and that's Russell's post-challenge rant. Russell is lucky there is other drama going on at his camp because none of his tribe mates seem to be mad at him for acting like such an ass.
Then Jeff asks the Matsing members what they would like to change about their tribe. Roxy accuses the rest of her tribe of working too hard around camp and not conserving energy for the challenge which solicits plenty of eye-rolls. Angie tells Jeff that "cookies would be nice."
Yes, girl just said "cookies" to Jeff Probst. Yikes.

September 19, 2012 (The start of Survivor 25!!)
![Picture](/uploads/1/0/6/1/10619630/_3152078.jpg)
Here we are and it's the 25th season of Survivor and we're celebrating it with the sweeping high-definition shots of the island and the clear blue waters of the Philippines. I think it's important that we take a moment to appreciate how much HD has changed the Survivor viewing experience. If
you're not watching the waterfalls and exotic animals on your flat screen, you're not even watching the same show.
This season the contestants are divided into three tribes instead of the normal two. The twist is there are three returning cast members who were medically evacuated from their season.
Russell Swan, evacuated from Samoa after severe dehydration, joins the Matsing tribe with Malcolm, Zane, Denise, Roxy and Angie.
Jonathan Penner who was removed from Micronesia when a wound on his knee became infected, is going to be on the Kalabaw tribe with Jeff Kent, Carter, Dana, Katie and Sarah.
Michael Skupin, known for falling asleep in the fire and air-lifted out of Outback with severe burns on his hands, is on the Tandang tribe with Lisa Whelchel, R.C., Pete, Abi and Artis. In addition the return of these reality TV "stars" they are joined by two other "celebs." Jeff Kent is a former Major League Baseball player and Lisa Whelchel was the star of the 1980s sitcom The Facts of Life. Both of them have a similar strategy to hide their careers because they think it would be a disadvantage for them. Michael recognizes Lisa right away, but the rest of her tribe members are too young to have even been born while her show was on the air. And only Dawson recognizes
Jeff, but she decides not to tell him she knows until it's to her advantage.
As is the routine in most recent seasons of Survivor, the contestants are making alliances almost immediately that they will most likely use to hold against each other when they are either on the jury or justifying themselves to the jury.
Hidden immunity idols are in play and the veteran Jonathan wastes no time searching for any sign of the idol. Fortunately, he finds a clue hidden in their bag of rice but unfortunately his tribe mates notice his scrambling and are none too pleased. Russell also finds the clue in the rice, but his discovery came about by the mere coincidence that he was the one who was scooping the rice for that meal.
On Matsing, Russell insists that he does not want to be the leader but then immediately starts barking out orders like a drill sergeant. He is already that guy who everyone hates for being too pushy on the first episode. Target, meet Russell's back.
Zane, a tattooed tire repair man from Virginia immediately starts making alliances with every person on his tribe. Not only that, but he discloses to everyone that he is making an alliance with everyone and by the laws of Survivor math, that leaves him alliances with no one.
Over at Tandang, Michael is already getting himself into trouble. He's scraped his head, sliced his foot and cut his finger all in the matter of two days. Suddenly everyone is
understanding how he could've fallen asleep in the fire, even he admits that he often acts first and thinks second.
Abi on Tandang is a Brazilian dance teacher and she thinks she can use her sexuality to manipulate Pete. And Pete notices her staring at him a lot, so he thinks he can use his sexuality to manipulate Abi. Either way, it looks like things are going to get freaky on Tandang.
Immunity Challenge
Because there are three tribes, two immunity idols will be given to the first two tribes to finish the challenge. In addition, the tribe that finishes first gets a complete
fire-making kit and the tribe that is second will win flint. Losing tribe gets nothing and has to go to tribal council.
The first challenge is a relay of sorts with each tribe split into pairs. The first pair will be tied together and have to race into the jungle to retrieve two paddles. The second pair will use the aforementioned paddles to race a boat into the water to unhook a large, heavy chest. Then the final pair will use the pieces in the chest to complete a
puzzle.
Before the challenge, Russell immediately goes into dictator mode to assign his teammates their positions and takes absolutely no input from anyone else. He takes zero time to consider or even listen to the strengths of his new friends and makes all of the decisions himself.
Angie and Roxie quickly fall behind on the puzzle even with Russell micro-managing over their shoulders (after specifically saying before that he was bad at puzzles) and it is a race between Tandang and Kalabaw. Kalabaw manages to eek ahead of Tandang for the victory and the fire-making kit. Tandang finishes mere seconds after winning immunity and flint.
And none for Matsing... see you at Tribal.
Loser Camp
Seeing what the losers do back at camp after a challenge is always an intriguing part of the show. There are no outside hosts to bother them with questions, no trivia and no audience participation involved in who gets voted out. Just pure unadulterated politics between a handful of strangers. And it's still intriguing after all of these years because of all the endless possibilities and strangeness of human behavior.
Russell starts to take responsibility for going into "chief mode" as he describes it when he is interrupted by Zane. Zane basically tells them all to vote him off, because he is not as strong in the challenges as he thought he would be. Russell thinks he's been given a gift from the Survivor gods and proceeds to tell everyone who will listen to vote Zane off.
But oh, it's not as simple as that. Zane has it in his head that he is actually strategizing. He thinks that his tribe mates would rather keep him around at less than 100 percent than deal with Russell. He seems to actually have his tribemates going for a while, especially the girls who are really miffed at Russell's behavior from the challenge. But instead of pulling back when his allies encourage him to stay, Zane keeps insisting on how weak he really is.
Tribal Council
Zane wastes no time in popping off to Jeff Probst by equating his experience on Survivor to an onion: the more layers you pull back the more you start to cry. Russell admits to making his mistake and acting the fool by calling the shots at the challenge, but Zane sticks with his whole "I'm too weak to go on" strategy.
In the end, the Matsing tribe members unanimously vote off Zane for over-selling his lack of strength to go on. It was a risky move, and it obviously didn't pay off.
No one has unintentionally intentionally signed his own death warrant quite like Zane did, especially when his tribemates would have in all likelihood voted for
Russell if Zane hadn't made himself into a walking, talking target.
